Found singly over mud, sand, and in seagrass beds, in silty areas of sheltered estuaries, shallow lagoons, and seaward reefs.
They feed nocturnally on benthic invertebrates.

Depth - 2-20m
Widespread Western Pacific

The bodies of Pufferfish are covered in a toxic mucus, if the skin or flesh is consumed it can be fatal to humans.
