Overview

Found singly, or in small to large schools, during the day, under or close to ledges, dispersing at night to hunt for food, over lagoons and protected seaward reefs.
They feed nocturnally on small fish, invertebrates and octopus.

Bigeyes can change colour from red, reddish brown to silver with mood, also at night they will change to a pale blotched pattern.
