You totally rock! I shall do a search of these names and see what I can identfy at the local fish markets. I just need enough to calm down the pink Mbuna as it's gone a bit hyper dominant, and not grow too big as the two Severum I think can get large for the size of tank. Many thanks :)

Don't mention it. Well, as for Heros severum, specialists recommend beautiful Symphysodon aequifasciatus, Barbus denisonii, Apteronotus albifrons,, Phenacogrammus interrruptus, Geophagus thayeri - if you keep just big fishes in the tank. For Pseudotropheus zebra will be good Aulonocaras (baenschi, nyassae), Barbus schwanefeldi, Cyrtocara moorii (blue beautiful fish), Red parrot fish (very funny), Cichlasoma meeki and others.

Awesome for giving me your opinions so promptly. I do need help as I'm a total beginner, my major is biology which has helped me slightly. However I'm a pom (English) living in China so the language barrier is making my decisions a nightmare. I went for the mbunas as they look fantastic, without a clue about their behavior or social conditions and indeed what they where called until swiftly joining this web site. So what I need help with us what other fishes could I get to join this community tank?

I think this is Heros severum (Cichlasoma severum), probably red spotted var.
