Found over reef flats and on rocks, over tide lines of lagoons and inner reefs.
They feed on bivalves and other snails.
Length - 2.5cm
Depth - 1-20m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Murex shells are highly prized collectors items with their winged and pungent spines.
