Found in small to very large schools, over mangroves, rocks and seagrass beds, of lagoons and coastal reefs rich in algae growth. When resting or threatened these rabbitfish change to a blotched pattern.
They feed on algae.
Juveniles found close to mangroves.

Depth - 0-20m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Rabbitfish are usually found in algae rich reefs.
