Also known as Coral Croucher, Gumdrop, Gumdrop Coral Croucher, Orbicular Velvetfish, Spotted Coral Croucher.

Found singly usually wedged between branches of living Acropora corals over lagoons and seaward reefs.
They feed on coral mucus and shrimps.
Length - 5cm
Depth - 0-15m
Widespread Western Indian Ocean

As with all scorpionfish these fish have venomous spines although there sting is more like a bee sting!
