Found singly or in pairs swimming usually with its head pointing upwards in very deep waters, sometimes caught by trawler nets or over shallow waters or beached when dying..
They feed on crustaceans, fish and squid.

Depth - 20-1000m
Circumtropical

This is the worlds longest bony fish.
