Description

Also known as Greyspot Guitarfish, Greyspot Sandshark, Jumping Jack, Wedgefish.

Found singly, often resting on the bottoms, around inshore shallow surf zones to deeper waters.
They feed on crustaceans, fish and molluscs.
Length - 120cm
Depth - 0-100m
Widespread Western Indian Ocean

Guitarfish catch their prey by using a suction method called "jumping jacks" when jumping out of the water.
