Description

Also known as Humpback Snapper, Hunched Snapper, Paddletail, Paddletail Sea Perch, Paddletail Snapper, Red Snapper.

Found in large, dense, stationary schools, during the day drifting with the current, dispersing at night, foraging for food, over coastal slopes of coastal reefs.
They feed on fish and invertebrates.
Juveniles found over coral, sand, and seagrass beds, of shallow sheltered reefs.
Length - 50cm
Depth - 1-150m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Most Snappers live in moderate depths, however there are a few that live much deeper. Juveniles found on inshore reefs.
They are nocturnal predators that mainly feed on fish, but will eat crustaceans, gastropods and cephalopods.

    Can someone please let me know if humpback red snapper is farmed anywhere under any commercial aquaculture/ mariculture activity.
