Description

Also known as Carangue Bajad, Gold-spotted Jack, Gold-spotted Trevally, Orange-spotted Jack, Trevally.

Found in schools, sometimes mixed with others, patrolling around coral heads, over muddy bays, lagoons and coastal reef slopes.
They feed on fish.
Juveniles found over sheltered bays.
Length - 55cm
Depth - 2-70m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Jacks are fast swimming fish that can roam over great distances. The larger fish hunt other fish and the smaller fish eat Zooplankton. In turn they are hunted by large Tuna and Dolphins. Ref: https://www.fishbase.in/summary/Carangoides-bajad
