Description
Also known as Black Angler, Blotched Anglerfish, Hairy Anglerfish, Hairy Frogfish, Splitlure Frogfish, Straited Anglerfish, Striped Angler, Striped Anglerfish, Striped Frogfish, Striped Hairy Anglerfish, Striped Hairy Frogfish, Toadfish, Zebra Anglerfish, Zebra Frogfish.
Found singly, pairs, or in trios, sitting amongst corals, sponges, on jetties, pylons, ropes, etc., camouflaged with the colour and pattern of their seat and surroundings, around weedy estuaries, shallow lagoons, and fringing reefs, rich in sponges.
They feed on crustaceans and small fish.

Frogfish are masters at camouflage and will change to match their surroundings. They lure their prey with a stalk between their eyes that copies the movements of its prey.
