Also known as Chinaman Snapper, Galloper, Redfin Snapper, Threadfin Snapper, Thread-finned Sea Perch.

Found singly or in schools over rubble and sandy areas of coastal reefs.
They feed on fish.
Length - 100cm
Depth - 1-100m
Widespread Western Pacific

Most Snappers live in moderate depths, however there are a few that live much deeper. Juveniles found on inshore reefs.
They are nocturnal predators that mainly feed on fish, but will eat crustaceans, gastropods and cephalopods.
