Found singly or in small schools, sheltering during the day around caves, jetties and under ledges, dispersing at night to hunt for food, in clear water shallow protected bays, lagoons and off-shore reefs.
Eastern Indian Ocean - Australia

Males incubate their eggs inside their mouths, as the egg masses increase in size they can be found with wide open mouths where they shift the eggs around to aerate the egg masses.
