Overview
Found in schools, close to the surface, or flying and leaping out of the water, flying long distances, in coastal areas and further out at sea.
Flying fish are all over the world and are able to fly for up to 50 meters at a time, which enables them to escape predators.
Their name has been given to the Constellation Volans, numerous ships and boats and also to the Exocet guided missiles.
