Overview

Found singly or in small schools, in murky, shallow, coastal waters, over drop-offs and slopes, of lagoons and coastal reefs, and close to the edge of the continental shelf.

Scombridae are some of the fastest swimmers in the ocean with their streamlined bodies and retractable fins cruising the open seas of the world for their food.
Tunas and Mackerels form the basis of the worlds largest fishing industry.
