Overview

Found singly, during the day resting on Pectoral and Dorsal Fins, blending in with the background, amongst crevices in rocks, sand and seagrass beds of shallow reefs. Seen out and about at night foraging for food. Not afraid of divers but will retreat if threatened.

Males and females often have different colouring and features.
Most are unafraid and don't move unless they feel threatened.
