Forgive the poor quality this is a screen grab from GoPro 5. Blue Magic dive site in northern Raja Ampat. This grouper was very near the other one I've uploaded that is similarly patterned but lighter. I would have said Plectropomus laevis or P. areolatus but neither of those species has a pale edge to the tail and both are lighter in the bottom half, unlike this fish which is clearly darker.
