Thanks for chiming in, @Randy! I ended up deciding it was a koi Yellow Tang, but I'm not sure I could really tell the difference between that and a koi Brushtail. I certainly saw a LOT of non-koi Brushtail Tang around!
Perhaps a Koi Scopas tang which is a special variant of Zebrasoma scopas. They were first discovered in the Maldives but have also been found near Java and also Thailand.
