Thank you Alyona. It seems to resemble the Southern stargazer more than the northern and, seeing as I found it in Florida, I'll assume it is the southern.
How were you able to identify so quickly? My searches were exceedingly fruitless. I couldn't find anything remotely like it and imagined I had found a new species. :-)
Nothern stargazer - Astroscopus guttatus, I think.

If this is the same fish as in the previous photo, then it can also be the Southern stargazer - Astroscopus y-graecum.
Nothern stargazer - Astroscopus guttatus, I think.
