A real surprise visit! This six-footer cruised calmly by a few feet away as I was free-diving just off a shoreline reef edge at about 2:30pm, an overcast afternoon. Mostly nocturnal, they say, but evidently they are sometimes active during the day. Others here have reported seeing them here on our reef, but not often.
