It's hard to say, it was long time ago but I believe it was more white than grey and no any spots on body.
May be it was sick, I found one dead moray on the same spot, also it had lackluster eyes so may be whole site was poisoned �?? in Thailand fishermen that time used often cyanides for killing fish.
was this moray grey or white, difficult to really see from the pic, and were there any spots on the body?

The reason I asked was because it didn't really match eels from that area, but it could be an albino, they have been known.
