Found singly lying on mud and sand bottoms over estuaries and coastal reefs.
Mainly nocturnal.
They feed on fish, benthic invertebrates and sand dwelling squid.

Depth - 1-50m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Flatheads are closely related to Scorpionfish.
