Description

Also known as Pink Hussar, Seaperch, Yellowband Snapper, Yellow-banded Hussar, Yellow-banded Seaperch.

Found in large schools, during the day around rocky outcrops, dispersing at night, foraging for food over coral reefs.
They feed on crustaceans, fish, and benthic invertebrates.
Length - 50cm
Depth - 0-40m
Western Pacific - Northeastern Australia, New Caledonia

Most Snappers live in moderate depths, however there are a few that live much deeper. Juveniles found on inshore reefs.
They are nocturnal predators that mainly feed on fish, but will eat crustaceans, gastropods and cephalopods.
