Also known as Coral Bream, Monocle Bream, Silverflash Spinecheek, Spinecheek, Vosmer's Spinecheek, Whiptail, Whiteband Monocle Bream, Whiteband Spinecheek, Whitecheek Bream, White-cheeked Monocle Bream, Whitecheek Spinecheek, Whitecheek Threadfin Bream.

Found singly or in small schools, over mud, rubble, sand and weedy bottoms, in turbid waters close to inshore areas of reefs.
They feed on benthic cephalopods, crustaceans, fish and worms.

Depth - 2-25m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific
