Also known as Costa Rican Blue-eyed Cichlid, Jade Eye Cichlid, Sajica Cichlid, T-Bar Sajica Cichlid.

Found in moderate to strong currents, over gravel and rocks, in rivers and rivulets, of the Pacific slope of Costa Rica.
They feed on algal filaments, bottom detritus, aquatic insects and seeds.
