Also known as Bar-eyed Goby, Flat-headed Goby, Flathead Goby, Freshwater Goby, Ganges Goby, Ganges Tank Goby, Gudgeon, Indian Freshwater Goby, White Goby.

Found in schools, in freshwater estuaries, also entering the sea. Over clear turbid waters, along canals, ditches, ponds, and in medium to large rivers, and streams.
They feed on crustaceans, fish, and small insects.

Widespread Indo-Pacific
