Also known as Boarfish, Japanese Boarfish, Sailfin Armorhead, Whiskered Armorhead, Whiskered Boarfish.

Found in pairs or small schools, over reef and sandy areas of deep rocky drop-offs.
They feed nocturnally on brittle stars.
