Description

Also known as Gudgeon, Pretty Lagoongoby, Sand Goby.

Found singly or in pairs, close to their burrows which are formed in depressions in the sand, over silty bottoms, of bays, mud flats, and inner lagoons.
They feed on benthic crustaceans and zooplankton.
Length - 10cm
Depth - 1-30m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Sand Gobies are usually found resting on the sand and feeding by taking mouthfuls of sand which is then filtered through their gills for tiny creatures. Ref: https://www.fishbase.se/summary/7218
