Also known as Atlantic Prickly Skate, Carpenter Shark, Comb Shark, Common Sawfish, Dwarf Sawfish, Largetooth Sawfish, Longcomb Sawfish, Smalltooth Common Sawfish, Smoothtooth Sawfish, Wide Sawfish.

Found singly or in shivers, on sandy bottoms of inter-tidal areas, over bays, estuaries and lagoons, also in freshwater lakes and rivers.
They feed on fish and shellfish.

Depth - 10-88m
Circumtropical

Sawfish use their saw to stir up the sand in search of food and to kill any fish it eats.
Although timid, if caught they will thrash around and can cause serious injury!
