Description

Also known as Bellowfish, Little Bellowfish, Longspine Snipefish, Trumpetfish.

Found in small, to very large schools, sometimes close to the surface, or in moderate to very deep waters, of coastal reefs.
They feed on small zooplankton.
Length - 15cm
Depth - 50-500m
Circumtropical

Snipefish come form a small family, Shrimpfish and Bellowfish are amongst these. Their bodies are highly compressed and mostly covered with bony plates. As with all this family they tend to swim with their heads pointing downwards. Ref: https://www.fishbase.se/summary/3277
