Description

Also known as Convictfish, Sea Bream, Sheepshead Seabream, Southern Sheepshead.

Found in schools, in brackish and sometimes freshwaters, around bridge pilings, jetties, and rocky shores, of spring basins, estuaries, and lagoons.
They feed on crustaceans, molluscs.
Length - 90cm
Depth - 0-15m
Widespread Western Atlantic, Caribbean

These fish have large human like teeth and can give a painful bite when handled!

Porgies are a silvery colour with hints of blue or yellow and high back profiles.
