Also known as Atlantic Pupfish, Bahama Sheepshead Minnow, Pursy Minnow, Sheepshead Pupfish, Variegated Minnow.

Found in schools, close to vegetation, in brackish fresh and salty waters, over muddy bottoms, of bays, inlets, lagoons, and saltmarshes.
They feed on algae, tiny crustaceans, detritus, and insect larvae.
