Found in large to very schools, over shallow protected reefs rich in algae growth. When sleeping or threatened these rabbitfish change to a blotched pattern.
They feed on algae.

Widespread Western Indian Ocean, Mediterranean

Rabbitfish are usually found in algae rich reefs.
