Description

Also known as Black-banded Grubfish, Black-banded Sandperch, Black-barred Sandperch, Grubfish, Sandsmelt, Weever, Weeverfish, White-blotched Grubfish.

Found singly or in small schools, resting on soft bottoms, of shallow rocky reefs and deep coastal slopes.
They feed on small fish and benthic invertebrates.

Widespread Indo-West Pacific
