Found in pairs, or family groups, hovering just above the bottom, close to their holes, over shallow silty areas, of sheltered reefs and lower reaches of rivers.
They feed on zooplankton.

Widespread Indo-West Pacific

These cute little fish usually in pairs but sometimes in groups can be found hovering directly above the ocean floor, facing the current to catch their food.
