Description

Also known as Sultan Goatfish.

Found foraging for food, over rocky outcrops, rubble, and sandy bottoms, of silty reefs.
They feed on crustaceans, small fish, and invertebrates.
Length - 23cm
Depth - 1-55m
Widespread Western Indian Ocean

Goatfish have two barbels extending form the chin, these are used to probe the sand for food such as worms, brittle stars, crustaceans and small fish.
They often have other fish in tow which hoover up any creatures left behind.
