Also known as Black Bream, Goldsilk Seabream, Pikey Bream, Seabream.

Found singly, or in small schools, over rocky and sandy areas, of intertidal surf zones, mouths of estuaries, rivers, and rock-pools.
They feed on benthic crustaceans, molluscs, and worms.
Juveniles found over protected bays and estuaries.

Depth - 0-50m
Widespread Western Pacific
