Found singly or in pairs, over protected areas of inner lagoons, or outside, exposed edge of the reef. Varies on colour.
They feed on algae.

Depth - 0-10m
Western Pacific - Malaysia, Philippines, South China Sea, Spratly Islands, Vietnam.

Damselfish are egg layers.
