Description

Also known as Ochreband Goatfish, Redband Goatfish, Sunda Goatfish, Yellowfin Goatfish.

Found singly or in small schools, foraging for food, over silty mud and sandy bottoms, and in seagrass beds, of estuaries and coastal reefs.
They feed on benthic crustaceans and invertebrates.
Length - 22cm
Depth - 20-60m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Goatfish have two barbels extending form the chin, these are used to probe the sand for food such as worms, brittle stars, crustaceans and small fish.
They often have other fish in tow which hoover up any creatures left behind.
