Found singly, pairs or in small groups over shallow protected rubble and sandy areas of reefs.
They feed by sucking tiny invertebrates into their mouths.

Depth - 0-21m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Pipefish are like seahorses in that the male gives birth!
