Found singly close to shelter over deep drop-offs in clear water lagoons and sheltered reefs.
They feed nocturnally on algae, benthic invertebrates and sponges.

The bodies of Pufferfish are covered in a toxic mucus, if the skin or flesh is consumed it can be fatal to humans.
