Description

Also known as Blowfish, Common Puffer, Lobeskin Puffer, Longnose Pufferfish, Pufferfish, Sugar Toad, Swellfish, Swelltoad, Toadfish.

Found blending in with the background, over sand, and weedy areas, of shallow, coastal waters, around bays, estuaries, and mangroves.
They feed on hard shell invertebrates.
Length - 25cm
Depth - 10-60m
Widespread Eastern Pacific

The bodies of Pufferfish are covered in a toxic mucus, if the skin or flesh is consumed it can be fatal to humans.
