Description

Also known as Pacific Sand Perch, Sand Sea Bass, Sandfish.

Found singly, near to their crevice or hole which they retreat to when threatened, over muddy sandy bottoms.
They feed on crustaceans and small fish.
Length - 34cm
Depth - 1-90m
Widespread Eastern Pacific, Caribbean

These Sea Bass are bottom feeders more colourful than other Sea Bass sometimes found half buried in the sand waiting for their prey but quickly retreat to cover when threatened. Ref: https://www.fishbase.se/summary/Diplectrum-pacificum
