Description

Also known as Blacknape Shrimpgoby, Gudgeon, Inexplicable Prawngoby, Prawn Goby, Shrimp Goby, Watchman Goby, Watchman Inexplicable.

Found singly or in pairs, sharing their burrow with an alpheid shrimp, over silty sandy areas of shallow protected estuaries, coastal reef flats and lagoons.
They feed on benthic invertebrates.

Shrimp Gobies live a symbiotic relationship with snapping shrimps.
