Description
Also known as Banded Horse Mackerel, Banded Trevally, Gold Trevally, Golden Horse Mackerel, Golden Jack, Golden Kingfish, Golden Toothless Trevally, Goldenfish, Horse Mackerel, King Trevally, Kingfish, Pilotfish, Trevally, Yellow Jackfish, Yellow Trevally, Yellow Ulua.
Found singly or in schools, over deep sandy lagoons and seaward reefs.
They feed on crustaceans, small fish and invertebrates.
Juveniles found in the tentacles of jellyfish, but as they grow they display piloting behaviour with much larger fish, probably to gain protection from their predators.

Jacks are fast swimming fish that can roam over great distances. The larger fish hunt other fish and the smaller fish eat zooplankton. In turn they are hunted by large Tuna and Dolphins.
