Description

Also known as African Catfish, Squeaker.

Found during the day, in standing and running waters, over rocky shores of the upper Nile Basin.
They feed nocturnally on algae, crustaceans, fish eggs, insect larvae, molluscs and sponges.
Length - 21cm
Depth - 0-60m
Africa - Nile Basin and Lake Albert

Catfish have venomous spines in the fins which can inflict painful wounds. These fish also omit a squeaking sound, hence the name.
