Found over mud and sand bottoms, in slow to moderate flowing waters in lakes and over river valleys.
They feed on aquatic insects, invertebrates, plants and vegetable matter.

Posted by TyroneI see pictures of the fenestratus with a dark line going through the middle of its body and I've seen the pictures of them without a line going through the body and they look like they have pink or orange in the sub body pigment. I have 3 like with no dark line going through the body. Are they different fish, or the same fish found in different waters maybe?
