Description
Also known as Asparagus Seaweed, Iodine Weed, Macro Algae, Marine Seaweed, Red Algae, Red Sea Plume, Seaweed.
Found in small bunches or in large groves, attached to solid substrates, over moderately exposed rocky shores. Usually a uniform pinkish colour.

Depth - 0-22m
Widespread Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean, Indo-Pacific
Widely used in Hawaii as a condiment and a traditional ingredient of Poke.
As many as 9000 species of algae are spread across the worlds oceans, some can be as much as 30 metres across while others are just a slippery scum over rocks.
Algae grows wherever there is enough light and life supporting conditions.

Posted by CoralWhy is this even here? It's not a fish and it certainly doesn't feed on plankton. Not to mention the length and depth entries are easy to find if you bother to look. Who put this here?
