Also known as Common Gourami, Gold True Giant Gourami, Golden Redfish, True Giant Gourami, True Gourami.

Found close to vegetation, in sluggish stagnant waters, of canals, flooded forests and medium to large rivers. These Gourami's can breathe for long periods out of water.
They feed on dead animals, fish, frogs, plants and worms.
