Also known as Australian Carp-gudgeon, Carp Gudgeon, Empire Fish, Gudgeon, Northern Carp-gudgeon, Sleeper Goby.

Found sheltering under branches, submerged trees, and aquatic vegetation, in freshwater, flowing and still waters, of rivers and stream.
They feed on algae, micro-crustaceans, and mosquito larvae.
